Bernadetta Płatkowska-Adamska, MD, PhD, FEBO
I am an ophthalmologist with a primary focus on cataract surgery. In surgery, I value precision, composure and the continuous development of my skills. I find it particularly rewarding to see how treatment makes a difference to patients’ everyday lives. Understanding their expectations and helping them make sense of the proposed treatment are therefore important parts of my work. This approach inspired me to create Chirurgia Widzenia.

About the author
My main area of interest is anterior segment surgery, including the management of complex clinical cases. I continue to develop my knowledge through courses and clinical training in Poland and abroad, as well as by observing experienced surgeons. I value both seeking answers to questions that arise in everyday practice and sharing knowledge in a way that is clear and accessible to others.
During consultations, certain questions come up repeatedly: how to prepare for eye surgery, what to expect and what to consider when choosing treatment. I know that information shared during an appointment can be difficult to remember, especially when accompanied by stress. That is why I am creating a space where patients can return at their own pace, make sense of what they have learned and prepare questions for their next conversation with their doctor.
Scope of consultations and procedures
- • cataract surgery (monofocal, toric lenses)
- • cataract surgery combined with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS)
- • ophthalmic laser therapy (SLT, YAG capsulotomy, YAG iridotomy, retinal laser therapy, micropulse laser therapy of the macula)
- • ophthalmology consultations, including diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma
